Subject Access Request
You have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you and to request a copy of that information. This is known as a Subject Access Request (SAR). A SAR allows you to understand what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
Making a Subject Access Request
You can make a Subject Access Request by completing our online form.
When making your request, please tell us what personal information you would like to receive. Being as clear and specific as possible will help us identify the information you need and respond to your request.
To protect your personal information, we may need to confirm your identity before we can provide the information requested. If we need you to provide proof of identity or address, we will let you know what information we need. For example, we may ask you to provide a recent utility bill or other suitable document showing your name and address.
How long will it take?
We will respond to your Subject Access Request as soon as we can and within one calendar month of receiving your request, or once we have received the information we need to confirm your identity.
In some circumstances, we may need additional time to respond if your request is complex or you have made a number of requests. If this applies, we will let you know within the first month and explain why we need more time.
Providing your information
We will carry out a reasonable search for the personal information covered by your request and provide it to you securely.
There are some circumstances where we may not be able to provide certain information, for example where a legal exemption or restriction applies. If this is the case, we will explain this to you where we are able to do so.
What you need to know before submitting a request
We will need to see proof of your address e.g. a utility bill. We cannot process your request until we have receipt of this.
If you have any queries while your request is being processed, please do not hesitate to contact us at sar@bdreside.co.uk
