I park my car on the turning circle – why are you restricting my parking?

The turning\n \ncircle is not a designated parking area. We have made many efforts to communicate this to residents in the past through different channels and meetings. Another recent joint inspection with the London Fire Brigade has confirmed that they cannot turn their vehicle in the space due to the parked cars. This could cause them significant difficulty should they need to respond in an emergency. We will now be installing a security gate to ensure that emergency vehicles are able to access the building in an emergency.\n

How will emergency vehicles get access if there are locked gates?

Emergency and other services have special keys for this sort of gate.\n

When will the work be happening?

Work will start during the week of 26 October 2026. The work will be completed by 4 November 2026.\n

Residents have all been made aware of the ongoing issue of unauthorised parking at Mill Point. Keeping people informed of the need for clear access routes at Mill Point has been a priority for us and we have already implemented ‘no parking’ controls in the area to prevent unauthorised parking up to this point.\n

Where can I park my car in and around Mill Point?

There is limited allocated resident parking available for existing permit holders in the car park shared with Timber Court.\n

Why is parking limited in the area?

This a low parking area. This is a key part of the planning design for the development. However, if you do have to park there are a limited number of unrestricted bays in the local area on Abbey Road and on the road leading up to Mill Point.\n

Safeguarding emergency access

We will be installing security gates at the turning circle area at Mill Point. The location of the new gate is indicated on the map below.

Why is this work happening?

Public safety, including the safety of residents, requires that emergency services and other essential vehicles have unrestricted access to this area at all times. The new security gates will not affect pedestrian access. The new gates will ensure clear access to the buildings in the event of an emergency and to carry out essential services.

Work programme

Work will start during the week of 26 October 2026. The work schedule allows time for the land to be cleared of any obstructions and any vehicles parked there to be moved.

We expect the new gates will be fully operational by 4 November 2026.
